Responsibilities:

  • Drive growth of our multiple sclerosis suite of solutions
  • Collaborate with product and commercial marketing, clinical and other internal stakeholders to develop necessary positioning to win in the market.

The finance role is responsible for monitoring financial performance and maintenance of appropriate financial planning and analysis (FP&A). This position provides guidance and recommendations on new revenue opportunities, including a mix of pricing recommendations, customer deal modeling. The Sr. Director of Finance will be leading the implementation of an ERP system designed to enable commercial activities for insurance reimbursements for various medical procedures and tests. Ideally, this would not be your first time bringing in revenue recognitions systems as the level of complexity here requires some experience.

We have a CAP Accredited Laboratory and have developed a hybrid immunoassay-qPCR test for deployment as a Laboratory Developed Test.

 

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) will be responsible for performing moderate and high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, analyzing data, interpreting results, and complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laboratory requirements. The work requires keeping meticulous and organized records, excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to multitask, be flexible with schedules, and work both independently and in a team environment to deliver high-quality results in the most efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory tests according to approved policies and procedures for all phases of testing; pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytical.
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are successfully tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Being proactive in identifying issues that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and working directly with the general supervisor, technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director to troubleshoot and implement process improvements.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Participating in instrument validations, proficiency testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Develop and/or revise laboratory documents including policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams responsible for securing CLIA certification, CAP accreditation, and state licensure for the Octave Clinical Laboratory, including compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Assisting the technical supervisor in method-verification studies and validation of laboratory-developed tests.
  • Participating in the monitoring of the inventory of clinical laboratory supplies and materials.
  • Providing direct and constant supervision of laboratory assistants.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing clinical laboratory operations including maintaining confidentiality of personal health information (PHI).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science, or related field.
  • Must possess a current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting; preferably with experience in a high complexity molecular testing environment.
  • Experience in immunoassay techniques preferred.
  • The ability to accurately pipette in plate-based assays.
  • Flexibility of work schedule to meet the needs of Octave’s Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Assistants will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and accessioning samples.
  • Data entry and quality check of patient and sample information in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Prepare and aliquot samples for testing.
  • Archiving and retrieving samples.
  • Post-accessioning quality checks of data entry and received documents.
  • Performing a variety of laboratory and administrative tasks to support the clinical laboratory staff in the CAP Accredited Octave Bioscience laboratory.
  • Performing laboratory duties under direct and constant supervision of a licensed CLS or the General Supervisor and/or designee, who provides specific instruction regarding how tasks are to be completed and defines the steps to be performed.
  • Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks and setting up consumables in preparation for laboratory testing.
  • Participate in materials management activities including inventory tracking, ordering, receiving, unpacking, documentation and labeling of consumables and reagents, and stocking work areas.
  • Following established protocols and identifying issues that may affect assigned duties, correcting problems or escalating them as needed to a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Supervisors, or the Lab Director.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing clinical laboratory operations including maintaining confidentiality of personal health information (PHI).

Description of the role: 

  • Partner with Octave Neuroradiologists and MRI team members to define and build best-in-class MRI protocols for patients living with MS
  • Develop lasting clinical partnerships by supporting MR technologists, radiologists, and researchers with the installation and validation of recommended protocols
  • Leverage your technical knowledge to ensure ongoing success of the Octave MRI program within the clinic and imaging center
  • Troubleshoot image quality problems and work with the clinic team to deploy solutions
  • Evaluate accuracy and reliability of post-processed imaging results
  • Collaborate with Octave Engineers to optimize and improve image workflows 
  • Act as a Voice of the Customer to improve and grow service offerings in collaboration with Octave Product and Commercial teams

Qualifications

Minimum  

  • Minimum License/Certification
    • ARRT Registered
      • ARRT approved MRI Certification
    • OR demonstrated ability to build and deploy MR protocols across scanner manufacturers, models, and software
  • 2+ years experience with radiology workflow and software integration within clinics
  • Demonstrable knowledge of medical imaging technologies and standards such as image transfer protocols, PACS, DICOM, HL7
  • Highly proficient with MRI scanning procedures, including use of tools and software applications within major MRI scanner systems such as GE, Philips, and Siemens
  • Basic knowledge of MRI physics to understand the impact of scan parameters on images
  • Advanced working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS, including troubleshooting installation and networking issues, firewalls, anti-virus, and remote access tools
  • Ability to visually assess image quality and investigate root cause of errors
  • Basic knowledge of human Brain and Spinal Cord anatomy

We are looking for highly motivated Medical Scientific Liaisons (MSLs) with a proven track record of successfully engaging neurology healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs),  and organizations. The MSL is responsible for cultivating current and future thought leaders in neurology in private practices and community and academic settings. The MSLs’  clinical practice insights and science knowledge will be utilized to deliver non-promotional scientific, educational, and research data and education activities.

The position carries out field activities associated with bringing new Octave Bioscience products to the market and expanding the market for future offering. The MSL is responsible for developing creative and innovative strategies for addressing the specific needs of key customers and KOLs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with KOLs and advocates to increase awareness about Octave Bioscience products.
  • Provide scientific support for the commercial functions of the organization, including providing scientific support to health care practitioners and training for speakers and sales force members as needed.
  • Build a strong network of pertinent and relevant experts to obtain relevant advice, expert opinions, and collaborations.
  • Manage, develop, and grow medical activities and initiatives to achieve key medical objectives.
